Abe apologizes to nation for abrupt resignation
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe closes his notebook at the end of a news conference held Sept. 24 at Keio University Hospital in Tokyo, where he has been hospitalized since the day after abruptly announcing his resignation on Sept. 12. Abe apologized to the nation for bringing about political turmoil by announcing his resignation at ''the worst timing'' and said a health problem was the key reason for his decision.
