Japan opposition leader Ozawa offers to resign

TOKYO, Japan - Democratic Party of Japan President Ichiro Ozawa (2nd from L) tells a press conference at the party headquarters on Nov. 4 that he has offered to resign as the head of the main opposition party to take responsibility for the confusion caused over the idea of a grand coalition government with the ruling parties. Ozawa said it was ''the same as being slapped with a no-confidence vote by party executives'' when they decided not to accept his idea of forming a policy consultation framework with the ruling coalition.
