Lower house set to clear bill for refueling mission Nov. 13

TOKYO, Japan - The ruling bloc-dominated House of Representatives committee on antiterrorism and Iraq reconstruction affairs on Nov. 12 passes a contentious bill to resume the Self-Defense Forces' refueling mission in the Indian Ocean in support of U.S.-led antiterrorism operations in and around Afghanistan, while opposition lawmakers (R side) surround the committee chairman in protest at the ''insufficient'' deliberations. The lower house is set to clear the bill at a plenary session Nov. 13.
