Coelacanth dissected for research

YOKOHAMA, Japan - A coelacanth, which has features of an ancient fish, is anatomized at the Tokyo Institute of Technology Dec. 22 for scientific research on a evolution process of fishes moving up to land from the sea. The coelacanth, 120 centimeters long and weighing 45 kilograms, has been presented to institute professor Norihiro Okada from a Tanzanian institute.
