Nippon Steel VP Shoji Muneoka promoted to president

TOKYO, Japan - Nippon Steel Corp.'s Vice President and President-designate Shoji Muneoka (L) shakes hands with the company's outgoing president, Akio Mimura, at a news conference in Tokyo on Jan. 17 after the nation's top steelmaker announced top management changes. Mimura, 67, will become board chairman. The personnel changes will take effect April 1.
