Japan, U.S. sign new burden-sharing agreement with moderate cut
TOKYO, Japan - U.S. Ambassador to Japan Thomas Schieffer (L) and Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura shake hands at the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo on Jan. 25 after signing a new three-year accord from next April on host-nation support for U.S. forces, including a moderate cut of 800 million yen in the utilities fees shouldered by Japan.
