ABOARD THE SHIRASE, Antarctica - An aurora is observed on Feb. 26 from the 11,600-ton Icebreaker Shirase which bid farewell to Antarctica on Feb. 15 after 25 years in service. The icebreaker is staying to the east of Showa Base. (Pool photo)
