S. Korea's Lee calls for strategic alliance with U.S.
NEW YORK, United States - South Korea's new conservative President Lee Myung Bak makes a speech at the Korea Society in New York on April 15. Lee called for lifting his country's ties with the United States ''to the level of a strategic alliance'' amid concerns in recent years over a weakening of the alliance.
