Matsushita logs record net profit on firm sales of digital gear

TOKYO, Japan - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. President Fumio Otsubo announces in Tokyo on April 28 that his company's group net profit in fiscal 2007 climbed 29.8 percent from the previous year to a record 281.88 billion yen as steady sales in digital and household appliances offset a financial hit stemming from the status change of key group member Victor Co. of Japan.
