Taichi whalers hold memorial service for whales killed

SHINGU, Japan - Led by a Buddhist priest, whalers and local officials of Japan's ancient whaling town Taichi in Wakayama Prefecture hold a memorial service on April 29 in front of a whale monument at Kantorizaki park to pray for the repose of coastal whales killed by Taichi whalers. Sutra was chanted, and incense offered during the memorial service.
