Date beats Fujiwara, advances to Kangaroo Cup 2nd round

NAGOYA, Japan - Kimiko Krumm Date signs autographs after her first-round, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over fifth seed Rika Fujiwara in the Kangaroo Cup International Ladies Open in Gifu on April 30. The former world No. 4 made a comeback in professional tennis after retiring in the prime of her career on the WTA Tour in 1996.
