First-generation Shinkansen train car to be shown at museum
SAITAMA, Japan - The head train car of a first-generation Shinkansen bullet train is moved to an East Japan Railway Co.'s train center in Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, on Aug. 31 ahead of its display at the Railway Museum in the city. The train car was manufactured in 1964 when the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train service started and was used later at a training center of West Japan Railway Co.
