Matsushita unveils Panasonic-brand white goods

TOKYO, Japan - Fumio Otsubo, president of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., poses with some of the company's white goods to be sold under the ''Panasonic'' brand for the first time, ahead of the company's corporate name change to Panasonic Corp. on Oct. 1. The company has been using the ''National'' brand for white goods and the Panasonic brand for audiovisual electronics equipment in Japan.
