Panasonic cuts FY 2008 group net profit estimate by 90%

OSAKA, Japan - Panasonic Corp. Director Makoto Uenoyama announces his firm's earnings projection for FY 2008 at a press conference in Osaka on Nov. 27. Panasonic has cut group net profit estimates for the year by 90.3 percent to 30 billion yen due to the yen's surge, slowing consumption and harsh price-cutting competition.
