Astronaut Furukawa hoping to contribute to life sciences on mission
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa speaks at a press conference at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency on Jan. 5, after he was chosen as a crew member for a six-month mission to the International Space Station beginning around the spring of 2011. The 44-year-old doctor-turned-astronaut expressed hope to contribute to the field of life sciences as a crew member of the mission.
