Nobel laureate chemist Shimomura encourages alma mater students

NAGASAKI, Japan - Nobel Prize-winning chemist Osamu Shimomura, professor emeritus at Boston University, demonstrates an experiment using lucent green fluorescent protein he discovered from a variety of jellyfish during a lecture at his alma mater Nagasaki University in the city of Nagasaki on March 22. Shimomura, who lives in Massachusetts, urged students in the audience to stay the course in their academic research, saying, ''Never give up and try your best.''
