'Battleship' island opened to public for 1st time in 35 yrs

NAGASAKI, Japan - About 70 sightseers and former residents visit the now uninhabited Hashima Island, nicknamed Gunkanjima (battleship island), off the southwestern Japan prefecture of Nagasaki on April 22. The city of Nagasaki allowed people to make a one-day trip to the tiny island for the first time in 35 years.
