DPJ's Aoki to challenge New Komeito leader

TOKYO, Japan - Ai Aoki (R), an upper house lawmaker from the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan, shakes hands with Acting DPJ President Ichiro Ozawa at a press conference in Tokyo on July 24. Aoki announced her bid to run against the leader of the ruling coalition's New Komeito party in the Tokyo No. 12 single-seat constituency in the Aug. 30 lower house election.
