TOKYO, Japan - The outbound-lane of the Tomei Expressway is crowded with vehicles by holidaymakers heading for their hometowns and resorts near the Numazu interchange in Shizuoka Prefecture on Sept 19, the first day of the five-day ''Silver Week'' holiday.

4 die in Tomei Expressway pileup

NAGOYA, Japan - An aerial photo shows the wreckage of a pileup involving 12 vehicles on the Tomei (Tokyo-Nagoya) Expressway in Shinshiro, Aichi Prefecture. Four people were killed and 13 others injured in the June 23 pileup.
