Dalai Lama attends memorial service for war dead in Okinawa
NAHA, Japan - The Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama (2nd from L) visits the Cornerstone of Peace at the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman, Okinawa Prefecture, on Nov. 5, 2009, before attending a memorial service. The names of about 240,000 war dead in the Battle of Okinawa during the closing days of World War II are inscribed on the cornerstone.
