New icebreaker Shirase leaves Japan on Antarctic mission

TOKYO, Japan - The new icebreaker Shirase leaves Harumi pier at Tokyo Port on Nov. 10, 2009, on its Antarctic expedition. Japan's fourth icebreaker for Antarctic expeditions, the new, 12,500-ton Shirase has top-level icebreaking capabilities.

      TOKYO, Japan - File photo of photographer Kishin Shinoyama, whose home and office in Tokyo were searched by police on Nov. 10, 2009, on suspicion of public indecency over the shooting of nude photos for his book ''20XX TOKYO.'' Police also raided the office in Tokyo of a talent agency that represents one of the two models to appear in the book, a 21-year-old actress.
