Asashoryu sentences Chiyotaikai to fatal 8th defeat in Kyushu

FUKUOKA, Japan - Mongolian yokozuna Asashoryu (R) lifts ozeki Chiyotaikai out to the ring to a fatal eighth loss on the 10th day of the 15-day Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament at Fukuoka Kokusai Center on Nov. 24, 2009. With the defeat, Chiyotaikai will now be demoted to sumo's third rank of sekiwake for the New Year meet in Tokyo in January, while Asashoryu retained his share of the lead with chief rival Hakuho with 10th win.
