Fujii resigns as Japan finance minister

TOKYO, Japan - This Sept. 24, 2003, file photo shows Hirohisa Fujii (R), then secretary general of the Liberal Party, shaking hands with Ichiro Ozawa (2nd from R) who headed the party, Naoto Kan (2nd from L), who headed the Democratic Party of Japan and Katsuya Okada, DPJ secretary general, during a ceremony to mark the merger of Ozawa's party into the DPJ at a Tokyo hotel. Fujii was replaced with Kan, deputy prime minister, on Jan. 6, 2010, after tendering his resignation.
