Scandal-tainted champion Asashoryu calls it quits

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows Mongolian yokozuna (grand champion) Asashoryu (L) pulling down fellow Mongolian Kyokushuzan by his topknot at the Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament on July 10, 2003. Ringside judges decided to disqualify the yokozuna after the bout. Asashoryu announced his retirement on Feb. 4, 2010, in the wake of a recent scandal in which he was alleged to have seriously injured a man in a drunken rampage.
