Kokubo barred from Games opening ceremony over dress code

VANCOUVER, Canada - Japanese snowboarder Kazuhiro Kokubo (R) ponders for a moment during a news conference in Vancouver on Feb. 12, 2010, in which he and Seiko Hashimoto (L), the head of Japan's Vancouver Winter Olympic delegation, apologized after the delegation decided to bar him from the opening ceremony of the Games for flouting the Olympic dress code. The 21-year-old, who will still take part in the halfpipe events, was seen at Tokyo's Narita airport with his tie loosened and his shirt hanging out of his trousers, which he wore low down off his hips.
