Monju nuclear reactor restarts after 14-yr hiatus
TSURUGA, Japan - A police boat patrols near the Monju fast-breeder nuclear reactor in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast on May 6, 2010. The reactor resumed operations the same day after 14 years and five months of suspension due to a series of accidents and glitches including a sodium coolant leak.
