DPJ's Kobayashi announces resignation as lawmaker

CHITOSE, Japan - Democratic Party of Japan lawmaker Chiyomi Kobayashi bows during a press conference in Chitose, Hokkaido, on June 14, 2010, during which she announced her resignation as a House of Representatives member. Kobayashi made the announcement following the conviction of a union official the same day for illegal donations to her election campaign last summer.
