APEC to pursue low-carbon technologies, promote nuke power

FUKUI, Japan - Japan's Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Masayuki Naoshima shows a joint declaration signed by energy ministers from 21 members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum after a one-day meeting in Fukui on June 19, 2010. The ministers agreed to embark on a project to create low-carbon model cities using energy-efficient technologies and urged the promotion of nuclear power as an environmentally friendly energy source.
