Miyazaki Pref. lifts last animal transfer ban
MIYAZAKI, Japan - Miyazaki Gov. Hideo Higashikokubaru announces the total lifting of a state of emergency proclaimed over an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among local livestock at the prefectural hall in Miyazaki City immediately after midnight July 26, 2010. The Miyazaki prefectural government lifted its last remaining ban on transfers of animals, leaving the prefecture free from any restrictions on moving livestock more than three months after the first case of foot-and-mouth disease was confirmed in southwestern Japan.
