Greek woman runs 540-km memorial marathon

MARATHON, Greece - Greek long-distance runner Maria Polyzou (C) celebrates with friends on Aug. 2, 2010 in Marathon after completing a 540-kilometer Athens-Sparta-Marathon course. The Greek women's marathon record-holder ran for eight days to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon, in which a soldier ran from the battlefield to Athens to carry the news of a Greek victory.
