Base opponents win majority in Nago assembly election

NAGO, Japan - Susumu Inamine, the mayor of the Okinawa city of Nago, answers questions from reporters at the Nago city hall on Sept. 13, 2010, after candidates opposed to a Japan-U.S. plan to relocate a major U.S. Marine base from Okinawa's Ginowan to Nago secured a majority in the previous day's municipal assembly election. The mayor was elected in January on a platform opposing the plan.
