Fishermen demand the opening of Isahaya Bay dike
TOKYO, Japan - Protestors, mostly from the fishing industry, sit in front of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Ministry in Tokyo on Dec. 7, 2010, demanding that the government swiftly open the Isahaya Bay dike in Nagasaki Prefecture. The Fukuoka High Court ordered the state to open the dike's drainage gates the previous day, in support of the fishermen, acknowledging the closure of the gate has damaged the local fisheries industry.
