Steaming cuisine at low temperature in Beppu
OITA, Japan - Steamed food is prepared using steam rising from a hot spring in the city of Beppu in the southwestern prefecture of Oita in January 2011. A local group in the city, where steamed food is a specialty, suggested that steaming ingredients at a lower temperature brings out the taste much better than at a higher temperature.
