Mizuho Bank says mainstay operations back to normal
TOKYO, Japan - Mizuho Bank President Satoru Nishibori speaks in a press conference in Tokyo on March 25, 2011. Nishibori said the bank's glitch-hit computer system has returned to normal, enabling the lender to resume offering its mainstay deposit, withdrawal and transfer services following large-scale system problems that emerged about 10 days ago. He said a surge in the number of relief money transactions for victims of the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami triggered a glitch in the bank's computer system.
