Japan, Germany eye enhancing nuclear safety standards
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Foreign Minister Takeaki Matsumoto (R) speaks during a joint press conference with his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle at the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo on April 2, 2011, following their meeting. Japan and Germany agreed during the meeting to work toward enhancing nuclear safety standards in the wake of a crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant triggered by the catastrophic March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
