Sumo match-fixing scandal
TOKYO, Japan - Photo taken April 5, 2011, shows sumo elder Tanigawa at a press conference at the Hakkaku stable in Tokyo's Sumida Ward, where he is a coach. Tanigawa said he will not submit retirement papers as requested by the Japan Sumo Association, which imposed the punishment for his alleged involvement in match fixing, saying he has never been involved in rigging bouts.
