Disaster gives Chinese journalists new perspective on Japan
BEIJING, China - A journalist who covered the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan and its aftermath reports his findings at a symposium with university students in Beijing on April 17, 2011. A number of Chinese journalists saw their long-held negative views about Japan and its people change after traveling to northeastern Japan to cover the aftermath of the disaster, being impressed with the orderly and patient behavior of the victims and the relatively high transparency of information released.
