Ex-U.S. President Carter in Seoul
SEOUL, South Korea - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter (L) and South Korean Unification Minister Hyun In Taek shake hands in Seoul on April 28, 2011, after Carter's trip to North Korea aiming to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula. North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has said he is prepared for a summit with South Korean President Lee Myung Bak and is also willing to negotiate with parties of the six-party nuclear talks on any subject at any time and without any preconditions, according to Carter, citing Kim's message. Carter and three former European leaders did not meet with Kim during the three-day trip.
