Japan signs Nagoya Protocol on biodiversity

NEW YORK, United States - Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations Tsuneo Nishida smiles as he signs the Nagoya Protocol on biodiversity at the U.N. headquarters in New York on May 11, 2011. The multilateral protocol is aimed at setting rules for the use of genetic resources and sharing of benefits from their utilization, and has been joined also by Guatemala, Indonesia, South Africa, India, Norway, Switzerland and Tunisia.
