Kan survives no-confidence motion
TOKYO, Japan - Lawmakers cast their votes on a no-confidence motion submitted by opposition parties against Prime Minister Naoto Kan's Cabinet in the lower house of parliament on June 2, 2011. The motion was rejected after Kan announced his intention to step down once certain progress is made in containing a nuclear crisis and reconstructing the country after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
