Japan's Subaru telescope suspends operation

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows an outside view of the Subaru telescope of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan located on the summit of Mauna Kea on the island of Hawaii in October 2008. Operation of the telescope has been suspended for repairs due to coolant leak trouble, the observatory said July 5, 2011.

The Japanese government said a hydrogen explosion occurred at the reactor on March 14, 2011, following an explosion at the No. 1 reactor at the same plant the previous day. The plant has been shut down since the March 11 mega quake.

Explosion at nuclear reactor
