Toshiba to release glasses-free big 3-D TV, thin tablet

TOKYO, Japan - Toshiba Corp. announced on Oct. 3, 2011, it will release a 55-inch glasses-free 3-D television with high display resolution and the world's thinnest, lightest tablet, both in mid-December in Japan. The REGZA 55X3 television with a price tag of around 900,000 yen, comes with the so-called quad full high-definition panel that boasts display images four times finer than high-definition resolution

Panasonic to launch e-book reader on Aug. 10

OSAKA, Japan - Photo shows the UT-PB1, an e-book reader handset to be put on sale by Panasonic Corp. on Aug. 10, 2011. The Japanese consumer electronics giant said July 22, 2011, that the handset, with a price tag of 34,800 yen, can only be purchased via Panasonic's web store. The e-book reader has a 7-inch color liquid-crystal display, and is equipped with 16 kinds of applications such as e-mail and a camera.

Kenwood's high definition navigation system

TOKYO, Japan - Photo show Kenwood Corp.'s new car navigation system ''Avenue'', which can display high definition images and maps. The company said Jan. 11, 2011, it will release Avenue MDV-727DT and MDV-626DT in February at nominal prices of 15,000 yen and 13,000 yen, respectively.
