Ex-telecom exec to head budget airline Jetstar Japan

TOKYO, Japan - Miyuki Suzuki, who will become the chief executive officer of budget airline Jetstar Japan, holds a press conference at a Tokyo hotel on Oct. 11, 2011. Japan Airlines Co., trading house Mitsubishi Corp. and the Qantas Group of Australia, which jointly set up Jetstar Japan, announced the same day the appointment of Suzuki, a former senior executive director of fixed-line phone service provider Japan Telecom Co., as the CEO of the airline that aims to begin flying by the end of 2012.
