Informing height above sea level in 4 languages
YOKOHAMA, Japan - Authorities in the port city of Yokohama, near Tokyo, on Dec. 15, 2011 begin hanging plates in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean, showing a location's elevation above sea level, for use by citizens and tourists escaping a tsunami. The city has Chinatown and other tourist spots along its coast.
