New education minister Hirano
TOKYO, Japan - Undated file photo shows Hirofumi Hirano, Diet affairs chief of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan. DPJ chief and Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda appointed Hirano on Jan. 13, 2012, as education minister to replace Masaharu Nakagawa, while giving Hirano's party post to DPJ Deputy Secretary General Koriki Jojima.
