Dismantling Fugen nuclear reactor
TSURUGA, Japan - A worker engages in work to dismantle the Fugen prototype nuclear reactor, shut down permanently in 2003, in a shielded area to prevent radiation leakage in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, on Feb. 10, 2012. The Japan Atomic Energy Agency disclosed part of the dismantling procedures to the media the same day. The decommissioning process, which started in 2008, is expected to be completed in fiscal 2028.
