Noda's 1st trip to Okinawa

ITOMAN, Japan - Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda (L) visits the Cornerstone of Peace monument, black granite tablets inscribed with the names of the victims of the 1945 Battle of Okinawa, at the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman, Okinawa Prefecture, on Feb. 26, 2012. Noda made his first visit to the prefecture as head of the government the same day in a bid to persuade Gov. Hirokazu Nakaima during a meeting the following day to accept a long-stalled plan for the relocation of a key U.S. base within the southern island prefecture.
