Armed GSDF troops march in Tokyo for drill
TOKYO, Japan - Rifle-carrying Ground Self-Defense Force troops in camouflage pass by local residents holding a banner that reads, "Thank you for helping the disaster-hit area. But don't conduct military training in urban areas," in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward as part of their training as rangers on June 12, 2012. It was the first time in 42 years for armed GSDF troops to march through urban areas of Tokyo, with the last such occasion taking place in 1970, according to the GSDF.
