Joint air exercise at Hokkaido base

SAPPORO, Japan - A joint air exercise as part of global efforts to stop the trafficking of weapons of mass destruction begins at the Air Self-Defense Force's Chitose Air Base in Hokkaido on July 4, 2012. South Korea, Australia and Singapore are joining Japan for the drill conducted under the framework of the Proliferation Security Initiative.

About 400 GSDF and Marine Corps personnel took part in the exercise, part of the Resolute Dragon joint defense drill, designed to strengthen capabilities to defense remote islands.
