Japan gov't planning to buy disputed isles
FUKUSHIMA, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda meets the press in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture on July 7, 2012, to comment on the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. The Japanese government is planning to buy some of the disputed islands, also claimed by China and Taiwan, from a private owner in a bid to increase its control over the islands, government sources said the same day.
